2009 Merrick Momentum Awards Winner: Eved Services

As part of its ongoing efforts to nurture high-growth businesses, the Chicagoland Entrepreneurial Center (CEC) held its second annual Momentum Awards on March 9 and brought together more than 650 people from the business community at the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago. During the event, Jack Sandner received the Entrepreneurial Champion Award and Eved Services was recognized with the Merrick Momentum Award to acknowledge this high-growth, entrepreneurial business in the Chicago region. Founded by Talia Mashiach in 2004, Eved Services has transformed the local event services marketplace through new technology and today the company is poised for national expansion. Full Story

Entrepreneurial Champion Award

The Entrepreneurial Champion Award honors a prominent member of the business and entrepreneurial community who not only is successful in their own business ventures, but is also concerned with the success of their surrounding entrepreneurial community and each individual in it – giving his or her time and experience to help others succeed.

2009 Entrepreneurial Champion - Jack Sandner

Jack Sandner

Retiring after 13 years as Chairman of the Board of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, the longest serving exchange chairman in the history of the futures industry, Jack Sandner was elected Special Policy Advisor to the CME Board of Directors in January 1998. During the last two decades, under his leadership, the CME embarked on many groundbreaking initiatives creating innovative Global products, seamless Technology for global distribution and execution and a new business paradigm for the 21st century. The CME became the global financial services innovator and industry pacesetter for the 1980’s & 1990’s establishing an unparalleled track record of bringing products and services to market. Most recently, he was a member of the team that took the CME public December 6, 2002; the first exchange in the United States to be publicly traded. Read more

Merrick Momentum Award

The Merrick Momentum Award honors entrepreneurs on the long road between successful start-up and well established enterprise. The award recognizes the entrepreneurial stars from all industry segments that have demonstrated momentum since their inception and are poised for continued growth.
