On November 8, 2007, the Chicagoland Entrepreneurial Center, The Illinois Innovation Accelerator Fund, The Coleman Entrepreneurship Center at DePaul University, and The Knapp Entrepreneurship Center at The Illinois Institute of Technology hosted The Early Stage Marketplace. At this inaugural event, investors and entrepreneurs had the chance to meet investors that they may not have met at other venues in addition to hearing presentations from eight pre-vetted but previously undiscovered high-growth companies currently raising early stage financing. Presenting entrepreneurs had the opportunity to demo their products and services to attendees at individual trade-show style tables. Investors received access to an exclusive syndication room, where they had the chance to discuss opportunities and review the presentations.
